The summer is flying by so fast – I can’t believe that the shops are starting to get in 1st phase Autumn Winter stock, in comes the knitwear and black jeans! Noooo I hear you scream – we want more sun and more summer dresses! Luckily Topshop have come to our rescue with a great trans range of product with a nod to autumn but staying true to our love for an Indian Summer! With lighter knits mixed with chambre denims we can still feel summery even if the weather is likely to turn soon! My favourite of Topshops new in pieces is the accessories! With loads of new shapes in shoes its a great excuse to stock up and easily justifiable. Here’s my top 2 Indian summer must haves –
This Aztec shoe maybe a little on the pricey side at £70 but with a platform at the front and closed in heel you know this is going to be a staple comfy heel. Black and white goes with everything and this is a great heel to wear with summer midi skirts and dresses and then smart crops in the Autumn.
Loving this bag at £28 – such a bargain and definitely looks more designer than highstreet! With flashes of yellow this clutch is going to be a great staple to match with your summer wardrobe but also add a bit of colour to your look in the autumn with red , blues and greens! Such a good all rounder – I could see this being a go to bag all year round!

With the weather teasing us with a few sunny days I cant help but get excited about spring and all the amazing colours in the shops that have started to appear in the last few weeks! It’s so easy to get stuck into wearing jeans and boots and woolly tights in the winter and then suddenly before you know it there’s possibility of summer dressing with dresses, sandals, jackets and dare I say it – sunglasses! While browsing online for some new work-y clothes I came across a great site called Avenue 32 which has a huge variety of on trend, quirky and classic pieces from loads of different designers. What’s so good about this site as well is that its updated all the time which means that you can go back for a browse and see loads more styles!
With spring coming up, I’ve put together my top 5 wish list of pieces I’m loving on Avenue 32.
White cotton collar shirt by Folk £125
This shirt is a great staple piece – so easy to wear with jeans to dress down or cigarette pants and some heels if your going smart. Add a thin gold chain under the collar for a touch of detail. This understated smart look is everywhere at the moment and white is the hot colour for this spring.
Cut out Dress by Giles £1095
This Giles dress is perfect for all occasions and is a super flattering shape and length. I’d mix this with some gold jewellery and wedges for summer and a little jacket for evenings. The colour is going to look fab with all skin tones as well even if your feeling a little sun deprived from the winter months a pastel peachy colour will soften the look.
Phillip Lim satchel £555
I’m completely in love with this little satchel – perfect size for all your must have items! This is a great new take on the satchel look that was every where last year and in black it’s a classic staple. Gold zips and details add a bit of luxury along with the glossy black leather.

These little snake skin pumps give a nod to the geo trend and add a flash of one of this seasons hot colours – orange. Ideal for spring so incase of unpredictable weather but still on trend and easy to match with trousers, dresses or skirts.
Gold Love necklace by Sarah Chloe £115
There’s so much amazing jewellery on Avenue 32 its hard to choose my favourite but this gold Sarah Chloe necklace is so pretty and irresistible. This comes in gold and silver and is all hand crafted, definitely a must have for jewellery lovers.

How to sort your shoe collection
If you love shoes as much as I do, then you’d agree that it’s hard to resist adding the latest styles to your collection. But what do you do when your shoe habit starts to spiral out of control? If you start to lose track of just how many black patent heels you have, or catch yourself buying duplicates without realising – then it’s time to take control of your shoe collection. Organising might not sound like fun – but trust us, sorting out your shoes will double the pleasure you get from them.
Do you really need them?
Before you start organising your shoes, it’s worth going through them and deciding whether you really want to hang on to them or not. Do you really want those 80s era platform sandals you got for the school prom years ago? And just how many pairs of black ballet flats do you need to keep handy? While some old pairs may be beyond wearability, you could recycle others to earn some extra cash.
Be realistic – as much as it might hurt, review your shoe collection honestly and divide into three sections – those you definitely want to keep, those that are still in good wearable condition for someone else, and can be recycled, and those that are beyond all hope, and should head to the landfill.
Organise by event
If you’re living in a small space, then separating your shoes by occasion or event can help to organise your collection. Keep everyday practical shoes close at hand – a discreet shoe storage rack in the hallway is a good place to keep flats for driving, fitness shoes, wellies and work shoes.
Special occasion shoes, like your beloved collection of designer heels, party shoes and seasonal footwear can be stored safely away – close at hand for whenever you want to get them out, and easily accessible.
Shoe boxes – keep them or chuck them?
Shoe boxes always present a dilemma. Virtually every pair of shoes comes in a clunky cardboard box, complete with tissue paper and stuffing. While we’d like to hang on to every box in our shoe collection’s history, sometimes nostalgia has to be put second place to practicality.
It’s worth hanging on to original boxes for premium shoes – if you ever decide to part with them in future, having the original packaging can definitely increase their value. For other shoes, check out transparent shoe boxes. These can be easily stacked up inside your wardrobe, keeping shoes secure, clean and accessible – while letting you choose at a glance which pair you want to get out for each outfit. Another alternative to transparent shoe boxes is to take a quick snapshot of every pair, and sticking a picture on to your shoe box. While this might seem like a bit of a tedious chore – you’ll be glad you don’t have to wade through dozens of identical shoe boxes trying to find the right pair at the last minute, before your big night out!

Shoes to get you through the year
So it’s the start of a new year and while the sales are very enticing, it’s my new year’s resolution to be less impulsive with my shopping and instead spend more of fewer things that I really love – investment shopping! And with a new year I feel that new shoes are the best way to kick the January blues (see what I did there!)
As a lover of shoes its best to start from the feet up and invest in great footwear as this makes the outfit – staple footwear for every occasion that you can dress up and dress down!
I came across Macys when I went to New York a few years ago and recently stumbled across their website and can’t believe i have not been making the most of the choice available! If you don’t know who Macys are they are one of the biggest department stores in America. After having a good browse I’ve put together my top 5 investment shoes for 2013!
Here are my top 5 investment shoes to get you through the year!
Alfani Women’s Shoes, Allegra Step N Flex Flats
£38 down to £26.00
These are available in black and brown and are so wearable with a bit of animal print. The heel on this shoe is so fashionable right now as seen on Alexa Chung and other trend setting celebs.
Steve Madden Women’s Shoes, Twinkle Hi Top Studded Sneakers
£75 down to £52
Love these boots – very wearable shape and this colour will last all year with anything.
Occasion shoe (weddings)
Tahari Women’s Shoes,
Sabina Mary Jane Pumps
With a splash of gold this is easy to accessorize for an event but would still look great with jeans and a top for drinks with the girls.
Occasion boot (night out)
Caparros Booties, Dulce Evening Platform Booties
£60 down to £53
Perfect for partys and nights out and this shape will be on trend for a while. Minimize uncomfortable straps rubbing!
– another resolution is to get fit and by limiting myself to just 5 pairs it will force me to make the most of the money spent and actually do the exercise! … thats the idea!
Puma Women’s Shoes, Glyde Lo Sneakers £47
Love these shoes – trendy and practical!

Reese Witherspoon was spotted this week in a lovely sell out Zara jacket! This isone of those items you see and love, dont buy and then wish you had (and wish you’d bought 10 more to put on ebay!) This style has been so popular and is impossible to get your hands on! Lucky Reese managed to bag one before they sold out!
The Yellow colourway is amazing and is available on ebay for around £200!

With the cold weather and dark mornings its now become unavoidable to admit that winter is coming, or is actually upon us already!! Stop asking yourself if you can still get away with those ballet pumps and black blazer and start getting excited about a new seasons wardrobe! It’s still early enough to spend a bit on yourself and not feel too guilty about not spending on Christmas shopping. I have to admit I’m not the biggest fan of what’s on the highstreet at the moment, far too many distressed crosses and velvet dresses (you know who you are)for my liking – BUT hurray one shop continues to look amazing! Id actually like to live in Zara I’ve decided – picture this…. waking up in the home section, on crisp white sheets, sun pouring in through your white washed wooded frame window and stepping onto your sheepskin rug in your cotton revere PJs with broidery trims while your Zara model (of course) boyfriend fans you with an oriental display fan. Then onto the clothes section where you can dress in your favourite skinny jeans and printed shirt with studded military jacket – then step into perfect black heels and your off! Perfection! Aaanyway – here are my top 5 autumn Zara picks -
